Chancellor of Exchequer George Osborne will today unveil the details of the government’s plan to eliminate most of the 156 billion pounds deficit by 2015. David Cameron, UK prime minister, presented its defense cuts yesterday with overall savings reaching 3.2 billion pounds, but making sure that British defense spending does not fall below 2% of GDP target.
The Government’s spending review was delivered by George Osborne:
Faced with the need to save more than £80 billion, the Chancellor did what occupants of the treasury have been doing for decades: he squeezed the middle classes. Cuts to university funding and huge reductions in rail subsidies will hit the living standards of middle-earners hard. he also stood by his pledge to remove child benefit from households with a higher rate taxpayer.
For public sector workers news that nearly half a million jobs may go is a bitter pill. But only a small proportion will come from compulsory redundancies and the number of job losses can be reduced if unions are flexible about pay and pensions. these undeniably harsh choices are merely those that have already been faced up to by private sector workers whose taxes fund the public realm.

Aqui em Portugal tudo indica que as "comadres" se vão entender e que haverá Orçamento para 2011. Fico incapaz de saltar de alegria com semelhante notícia...É que nem os dedos dos pés se empertigam com esta "boa" novidade...
Está claro que se fizéssemos o exercício do "E se não se entendessem??" os resultados seriam ainda piores, mas mesmo assim estou incapaz de me congratular com o (agora chamado) menor dos males.
